The sergeants operate in a supervisory manner, overseeing and directing the daily operations of the
Operations Division.  Their general responsibilities include: Providing guidance and support for
subordinates to accomplish the department mission; Providing leadership, motivation and a positive
example for subordinates; Managing and supervising investigations and duty assignments; Managing all
equipment and vehicles assigned to the Operations Division; Managing staffing of the patrol and
communications units; Commanding and deploy all Operations resources as necessary to accomplish the
broad objectives of the department and those of any specific incident or activity; Serving as advisors to the
Chief of Police.
